So at work today....

A guy comes up to pay for pool and uses interac. When I finish with interac, there is a 'merchant' copy, which we keep, and a customer copy. When I rip off the merchant copy, I hit "check" on the till, and it opens and I insert the receipt. But this time, I hit "check" and NOTHING HAPPENS. NO BEEP. NO OPENING OF THE TILL. NOTHING. I give him his copy and he leaves. I start pressing buttons but the cash register is silent, NO NOISE, NO BEEPS. NOTHING. FAAAAAAAAAAIIIIIL. Im like "NOOOOOO!" So I went to the phone and called my boss and explained the situation. There are no customers. She cant figure out what is wrong so she tells me to unplug and plug in the machine, so I do. I try this about four times, plus turning off the actual on button ON the machine but NOTHINGGGGGG HAPPPENNNNNS and Im like freaking out! So I called her back and Mia says she'll come to look at it. THEN I look at this hard to read display screen and it says "Printer out of paper please insert and press clear". I run BACK to the phone and explain this, and ask "Could THAT be why it is not responding?" Mia doesnt think so but she tells me to refill it with paper, something Ive NEVER done, or never been shown to do. But she says its easy so I take her word for it and off I go. I insert the paper, hit clear, and voila! It lives!! I can use it again. I race back to the phone and tell Mia and she and I are relieved because it worked!!

Later on around 430 some guy comes in and plays pool and gets a pop. He comes and pays and asks for a till receipt. I hit "cash" and its supposed to print. EXCEPT IT DOESNT. I ring it up again, and again NO RECEIPT. I try one last time, and again, NO PRINTED RECEIPT. I cant figure out whats going on so I ask him "Will you accept a hand written receipt?" He agrees to it. So I wrote "Pool- 5.00$ Pop 2.00$ = Total 7.35$" and he asks me to stamp it. Except I spelled pop wrong. One extra O. So he spent 2$ on POOP!!!!! Anyway 6 comes and boss man comes in and I tell him he needs to void the two pool and pop charges, so he does. The I said "I dont know why it wouldnt print...what did I do wrong?" He opens the till, and says "Oh, paper is upside down."

Maybe I should actually post to this stupid thing so that MODS of communities dont think that this is just a sock account. ITS REAL. I just never used it, its my one and only account. I use blogspot, which I prefer. But whatever. Maybe this will be my secret journal! ;)

Im planning a trip. Or, thinking about planning one. To Ireland, and hopefully Scotland and England too, but before I get toooo ambitious, Im thinking Ireland first. See I need to save 400$ a month for the next YEAR just to have enough money. Though, I could possibly put some charges on credit if I ever get one, and pay off slowly when I get back. Ill have 4400$ by next September if I can do this successfully. Wish me luck.

Maybe I should use this stupid journal. I mean, I already HAVE a blogspot journal which I like better, Im mostly on LJ for the LULZ...I enjoy a number of awesome communities. This is NOT a sock puppet account or whatever theyre called. I just opened this account a few years ago and never used it for anything. :\
